FLYWHEELS AND RINGS

The flywheel ring in the Komatsu engine acts as an intermediate between the flywheel and the starter, allowing for efficient engine start-up. Types of rings in the Komatsu engine: A ring made of hardened steel is found in medium construction machines such as excavators with the PC200 engine model. Rings designed for heavy loads are found in large machines in the SAA6D170 engine. In large mining vehicles, the ring is larger and more massive, e.g. the SAA12V140 model has such a ring.
